Individual Therapy

Focused, depth-oriented therapy for professionals who want more than surface-level change.

It’s Wednesday Night. Everyone’s Asleep.

You’re still at the kitchen counter. Laptop closed. The day went fine by every external measure, but there’s a weight in your chest that doesn’t correspond to anything on the calendar. It’s been there for weeks. Months, if you’re being honest.

There’s a version of you that ran the meeting today, made the decisions, said the right things. And there’s another version sitting here at 10 pm, wondering why none of it felt real. Why does the same tension keep building, no matter how well things go on the surface?

The questions are always the same:

“Why do I keep ending up here? What actually needs to change?”

When Understanding the Pattern Isn’t Enough to Change It

Most of our clients are sharp, self-aware people. They’ve already thought deeply about what’s driving their experience. Many have done therapy before. They can describe their patterns in detail.

And the patterns haven’t budged.

Here’s why: understanding a pattern cognitively and changing it emotionally are two different processes. One happens in the thinking brain. The other happens in the nervous system, the body, and the relational wiring that formed long before you had language for any of it. That gap between insight and actual change is exactly where our work begins.

How We Work With the Whole Pattern

We integrate three evidence-based approaches, each targeting a different layer of how patterns get built and maintained.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) works with the emotional cycles running beneath your conscious awareness. These cycles formed early and still operate automatically in your closest relationships. EFT doesn’t just help you understand them. It helps you restructure them in real time.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) addresses the internal conflict directly. The part of you that wants connection and the part that pulls away. Rather than overriding these parts, IFS helps them communicate and reorganize.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) provides concrete distress, tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills for moments of highest intensity. Not theory. Tools you can use immediately.

All of this is held within an attachment-based, trauma-informed framework, because these patterns developed in relationships. They change in relationships, too.

For clients recovering from narcissistic or emotionally abusive relationships, this work also includes rebuilding self-trust and developing internal frameworks so those dynamics don’t repeat.

This is a focused, intentional process designed to help you understand yourself more clearly, regulate your emotional responses, shift the patterns that keep showing up, and move forward with real confidence.

Back at the Kitchen Counter, Six Months From Now

It’s another Wednesday night. The house is quiet. But the weight in your chest isn’t there. Not because the week was easy, but because something fundamental shifted in how you process it.

The old trigger from Tuesday’s meeting registered. Instead of spiraling into the familiar loop, you noticed it, understood where it came from, and responded from a grounded place. Decisions feel clearer. Relationships feel less like performances. The person on the outside and the person on the inside finally match.

Our clients describe it as feeling more like themselves. Steady. Clear. Able to trust their own thinking without constantly looking for external confirmation.
