Toxic Relationship & Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Intensives

2-Day Intensive for Narcissistic Abuse and Toxic Relationship Recovery

Break Free from Toxic Cycles – Reclaim Your True Self

Are you done feeling like you’re constantly apologizing for problems you didn’t cause, walking on eggshells around someone else’s emotional landmines, and questioning your own reality?

If you’ve been subjected to manipulation, gaslighting, or narcissistic abuse, you know the devastating toll these dynamics can take – eroding your sense of self, isolating you from supportive relationships, and leaving you to wonder who you really are beneath the blame and confusion.

I’m Doug Richard, and I’ve walked this painful road myself. As both a Double Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician and a survivor of narcissistic abuse, I understand firsthand the heartbreak, chaos, and self-doubt these relationships create.

That’s precisely why I developed the 2-Day Intensive for Narcissistic Abuse and Toxic Relationship Recovery – a deeply personal, highly focused experience designed to help you break free from destructive cycles; heal the wounds they left behind;, and rediscover your own power, purpose, and voice.

Over the course of two days, we’ll peel back the layers that have kept you stuck – exploring harmful beliefs, identifying unhealthy patterns, and learning practical tools to protect your well-being long after the Intensive ends. You’ll leave feeling clarified, validated, and equipped to forge a path forward that truly honors who you are and what you need.

A Note From Doug

Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Therapist & Double Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician, Survivor of Gaslighting and Narcissistic Abuse, Fully Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), AAMFT Approved Supervisor, Certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), with decades of experience.

My combination of clinical expertise – LMFT, NATC, C-EFCT, AAMFT-S – and personal experience with narcissistic abuse and gaslighting, including a years-long smear campaign from a covert narcissist, ensures a level of understanding and commitment you won’t find elsewhere.

I’m currently in consultation with Dr. Ramani Durvasula, the foremost expert on narcissistic abuse and New York Times bestselling author of It’s Not You: Identifying and Healing from Narcissistic People. I’m joining Dr. Ramani for three workshops in 2026, with Healing w/ Doug workshops coming in 2027.

A Note From Morgan

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), AAMFT Approved Supervisor, Certified PMH Professional, and Founder and Clinical Director of Rooted Relational Therapy, with decades of experience.

My credentials – MA, LMFT, AAMFT-S, PMH-C, C-EFCT – and personal experience with narcissistic abuse reflect my deep commitment to being prepared to help clients who have experienced unhealthy relationship patterns and need support and tools to work through these deeply personal challenges.

I have worked alongside Doug for several years and recognize narcissistic abuse is most often perpetrated by men toward women. For those who have experienced abuse in this way, you may be more comfortable working with me.

My clinical approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy, including Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (C-EFCT), along with Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-based, and trauma-informed work.

This Intensive Is For…

  • Survivors of narcissistic abuse – anyone who’s tired of gaslighting and chronic self-doubt, ready to break free from a pattern that undermines your mental and emotional well-being.
  • Those emerging from unhealthy family dynamics – individuals who have been caretakers, scapegoats, “black sheep,” or persistent “apologizers” within dysfunctional or invalidating family systems.
  • Adult children of emotionally immature parents – people who grew up managing a parent’s unpredictable emotions and needs, often adopting adult responsibilities far too soon.
  • Neurodiverse or ADHD individuals, who may experience communication or emotional regulation challenges that can heighten susceptibility to manipulative or toxic relationships.
  • Therapists and other helping professionals – counselors, social workers, nurses, teachers, and others in caregiving roles whose empathy and “rescuing” tendencies can make them more vulnerable to gaslighting and manipulation.
  • Empaths, people pleasers, and highly sensitive people, whose deep compassion and intense focus on others’ needs can leave them prone to overextending and overlooking their own boundaries.
  • People trapped in cycles of emotional manipulation, whether the dynamic involves codependency, repeated manipulation, or controlling partners.
  • Anyone seeking a stronger, healthier future – ready to spot red flags early, communicate assertively, and develop self-trust in every area of life.

Dates, Investment & Logistics

Recovery Intensives are usually offered on two consecutive weekdays or two non-consecutive weekdays (often Wed/Thu, Wed/Fri, or two consecutive Fridays). Intensives typically must be booked at least one month in advance of your anticipated dates – if you have dates in mind, let one of our Client Coordinators know when you contact us.

The total investment is $3,600 when working with Doug, split into three payments: $1,800 at the time of booking (after a free virtual consultation), $900 on Day 1 of the Intensive, and $900 on Day 2 of the Intensive. Morgan offers a discounted rate while she is completing her NATC certification.

In-Person: our welcoming office in historic downtown Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, creates a calm, retreat-like setting where you can focus fully on your healing. If you’re coming from out of town, we’ll gladly suggest local Airbnb/VRBOs, hotels, and B&Bs.

Virtual Option: for those who cannot travel or prefer the comfort of their own home, we can arrange a virtual Intensive after discussing your needs in an initial consultation.

If you opt for an in-person Intensive, consider arriving early or staying an extra day or two to enjoy the Susquehanna River Valley’s natural beauty, local dining, and charming shops – an ideal way to integrate the transformation you’ll experience.

Many of our Intensive clients travel from within Pennsylvania, as well as from Baltimore, DC, New York City, and beyond – across the country and internationally, including Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Australia.

We make no guarantees of success or satisfaction, though 100% of clients have expressed experiencing both since we began offering Intensives in 2017. Doug Richard is a Double Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician, having completed two Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician Certification Courses for more than 100 hours of postgraduate clinical training in this area of expertise.
